My “Bug” loves to read and look at books but he isn’t always the easiest on his books and there have been several books that he as had that we have had to eventually throw in the trash because he had literally torn them into pieces. I love to encourage him to read and learn but I hate to see him destroy books like only he can, so when I came across Indestructibles I knew that this could be the solution to both mine and “Bug’s” book problem.
About Indestructibles (taken from website):
Indestructibles™ introduces a revolutionary new baby book invented by a mother of triplets who wanted to share books with her babies, hassle-free. They are water-proof, tear-resistant, and baby-durable, making them the perfect books for babies who "read" with their little hands and mouths.
- Tear Resistant - made of ultra-durable tightwoven material
- Waterproof - can be chewed on, sucked on, and washed(!)
- Emergent Literacy Tool - wordless pictures encourage dialogic reading
- Portable - simple stitch binding allows them to slide easily into a diaper bag
- Safe for Baby - meets ASTM safety standards
Don't you wish you could let your precious little one delight in exploring books the way she'd like?
Now You Can!
Our Thoughts:
We were sent a copy of the Humpty, Dumpty Indestructibles, and this book stands up to the name Indestructibles! I have let “Bug” pretty much have his way with this book since receiving it to make sure that it was indestructible as the title states and to my surprise this book is still in the same condition that we received it in!
I swear that “Bug” had done everything to this book, he has chewed on it (our puppy helped with that too), spilled milk and pop on it and tried his best to rip the pages out of it and I feel so great knowing that I can give him this book and turn my back to continue to do the things I need to do like dishes and laundry without having to worry about him totally trashing the book by the time I get back to them.
I also want to comment about the illustration of this book it’s simply beautiful and I love that “Bug” can tell the story all by himself after me just reciting it to him a couple of times he “reads” the book to me nightly before we go to bed!
Bottom Line:
Indestructibles are a must have for any parent with babies and toddlers who love to look at books but aren’t the easiest with them. I love these books for so many reasons, they are super cute and have beautiful illustrations, they are easy cleaned if an accident does happen where food or liquid are spilt on them, and I love, love the fact that they come in stories that I have grown up with myself to share them with “Bug” I just can’t think of anything that would make these books better than they already are they are flawless!
Be sure to check these out before you head to your next baby shower because I just know that any new mother would love to have these for their babies, I’m sure they would be a huge hit in any type of baby gift basket or as a first birthday present.
We are going to purchase the rest of these books for “Bug” asap so he can have his own books to do as he wishes!
