Constructive Eating Review and Giveaway

I have to admit getting “Bug” to eat more of his food than he plays with is pretty much an impossibility, I have noticed that it’s not so easy for him to use his spoon and fork to pick up the food without either dropping it before it ever gets to his mouth or he pushes it completely off of his plate so he has more of a mess than what he has in his tiny tummy…well that was up until I discovered Constructive Eating and we had the opportunity to give them a try!

About Constructive Eating (Taken From Website):

Like many kids, our son fell in love with construction equipment at a very young age. It was a stage that had no boundaries. Our son loved anything and everything construction. As a result, our family room became the home to road graders, dump trucks and tower cranes. His bedroom became filled with construction themed carpets, shirts and sheets. It wasn't long before our son asked us to put cheerios on the floor to act as rubble for his bulldozer.

This prompted us to ponder... What if breakfast, lunch and dinner could become "rubble"? What if forks, spoons and pushers were the "machines"? Constructive Eating is the realization of these possibilities.

We are extremely excited to announce our commitment to the design and manufacture of construction based flatware for children. Our designs integrate the functional portions of construction equipment into the tines of a fork, scoop of a spoon, and blade of a pusher. Our products are perfect for pretending and eating. Constructive Eating currently offers three unique products: the fork lift fork, front loader spoon, and bulldozer pusher. We use true to life colors and shaping for our construction "machines". All are rugged, light weight, and dishwasher safe. They are great when going out to eat, trying to extend productive eating time at the table, encouraging those not-so-favorite foods, or just for fun!

We hope the kids in your life love this fleet of utensils as much as ours, and that a little constructive play with their food will help the peas go down!

Our Thoughts:
We were sent a complete set of Constructive Eating utensils and a plate, for “Bug” to review and he could not have been more happy to receive them in the mail, so before supper that night I put them through the wash and had them ready for him when dinner time rolled around.
I have to say that “Bug” isn’t the only one who loves this set, his daddy and papa was quite intrigued by it as well. Myself I couldn’t wait to see how it went during dinner to see if it worked as well as we all hoped it would.

I love the Construction Plate for the simple fact that it has rubber non-slip strips on the under side to keep the plate in place on the dinner table while “Bug” eats and it really helps to keep from making a mess by it sliding off into the floor! I really also like the fact that it has a special place for each of the three utensil to sit before we begin eating and I think it’s really fun to watch “Bug” not only play with his food but eat as well.
I think “Bug’s” favorite is the actual Eating Utensils, I think that these are such a wonderful idea and they are really cute. They come in Fork Lift Fork, Front Loader Spoon, and Bull Dozer Pusher. “Bug” really enjoys using these utensils vs. our regular forks and spoons, boy has that Bull Dozer Pusher came in handy during meal time. It’s really made a difference in the amount of food that actually gets eaten vs. what ends up in the floor due to “Bug’s” lack of being able to get it on the fork or spoon.
We have used this set on a very regular basis (“Bug” insist that he have his construction plate and utensils for almost every meal) and I’m proud to say that it’s certainly held up to the wash and dry and use wonderfully and I feel it’s a very high quality product!

I just love to set at the table with “Bug” and watch him not only eat but make noises with his equipment while getting all the veggies and such that he really needs in his daily diet! Constructive Eating has really made dinner time at our house super fun!

Bottom Line:

We all love our new Constructive Eating Utensils and Construction Plate! This is an extremely genius idea and it’s sure to make children that like construction equipment, or that just like to play with their food while eating not only enjoy meal time more but actually get more food in the belly vs. the floor.

I think that any child would be thrilled to find this in a birthday gift, as a Christmas gift or just because. I really do recommend these to every parent that has a child that has a hard time picking up certain foods and likes to play while they eat.

I want to say a huge thank you to Constructive Eating for making dinner time not only fun but helping “Bug” get more in his belly than on the floor!
