Peaceable Kingdom Press Review and Giveaway

I’m always on the look out for fun, interacting toys and games for my two year old. I love that “Bug” loves to play games and learn and we make sure to take at least 30 minuets a day to dedicate to learning activities such as flash cards, colors, numbers and memory match games and I can so tell you that when I get around other children his age it’s really amazing at what 30 minuets a day can teach a child! With all of that said when I had to opportunity to choose a product from Peaceable Kingdom Press to review I was super excited and it took a while for me to decide on what to review because they just have so many fun games and activities for children!

About Peaceable Kingdom Press (Taken From Website):
Welcome to the kingdom – Peaceable Kingdom! Where dinosaurs roam and a mermaid princess swims, where a child can host a fairy tea party or sail the open seas on a pirate ship. A place of imagination and exploration and fun.

Peaceable Kingdom Press was started in 1983 by Olivia and Thacher Hurd. Thacher is the son of renowned children’s book artist Clement Hurd who illustrated the classic picture books Goodnight Moon and Runaway Bunny. One day, Clement made a painting based on the art from Goodnight Moon and asked Olivia and Thacher if they wanted to sell it as a poster. They printed 1,000 posters, sold it to stores in Berkeley, CA and the next thing you know, a company was born.

Over the years, we have added hundreds of new products that feature the art from renowned children’s book illustrators. We now work with more than 100 artists and our product offerings include birthday cards, games, stickers, paper dolls, puzzles, diaries, and valentines. All of our products have one thing in common – they nourish children’s hearts, eyes, minds, and funny bones!

What matters most to us at Peaceable Kingdom Press is simple: make good, do good, be good. We maintain a personal integrity in all of our relationships, we remain dedicated to producing original high-quality products that are manufactured in socially-responsible facilities, we use recycled and FSC certified paper in 100% of our cards and envelopes, we support our local community by volunteering in the schools and our larger world by donating to charitable organizations that support the lives of children, and we have fun while we work!

Though Thacher and Olivia are no longer Involved in the day-to-day operations of the company their legacy lives on in the culture and products of Peaceable Kingdom Press.
Come into the kingdom and join the fun!

Our Thoughts:

After about 30 minuets I finally decided on getting “Bug” the Numbers Match Up Game and Puzzle to review and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! Once it arrived we couldn’t wait to get started playing with them! The first thing I did was introduce them to “Bug” and let him look them over just to see what he thought about them as a first impression and then we decided to head to the dining room and use the floor as our table since these cards are on the bigger side.

The first thing “Bug” wanted to do with this card game was to do the puzzle side of it and I’ll admit that it took us a little bit to get all the pieces in place because he wanted to do it all by himself with minimal help from mom, but boy was he so very excited once we got the puzzle all put together and he spent some time just studying it and pointing out everything on every single card which I found to be pretty fun myself seeing how happy and interested he was with the puzzle!

Next we did some memory match games, but instead of letting me lay them all face forward and let him match them he wanted to do it with all the numbers down and sure did have a blast turning them all over to find the match to the card he was looking for. I’m also loving the fact that the cards don’t just have a number or just pictures but have both so that “Bug” is learning to recognize the numbers and he is able to count the number of items on the card to help him with his counting! It’s really awesome to just sit back and watch him :0)!

Bottom Line:

“Bug” and I both have such a fun time playing and learning with the Numbers Match Up Game and Puzzle, and we are looking forward to using it more and more as the days go by! I’m truly amazed at how him seeing the number along with items to count on the card has made such a difference in things we do daily and I will be the first to admit that’s a great feeling when I see “Bug” having so much fun and learning all at the same time!

I also want to tell you about a couple of useful and cool features you can check out at the Peaceable Kingdom Press website including printable Mazes, Play-at-Home Games and some fun Creative Crafts. Also while your there don’t forget to sign your kiddos up for the Birthday Kid Club so that they can get a card and a little something extra on they special day!

Don’t just take my word for it check out all the awesome products that Peaceable Kingdom Press has to offer and I’m pretty confident that you are going to find something that will be perfect for the little ones in your life no matter the age or grade! They have a huge selection and I’m telling you it will be tough to choose just one!
