Tonka Strong Arm Garbage Truck Review and Giveaway (Christmas Wish List 2010)

Here we go again searching for the perfect Christmas gifts for little boys this holiday season and boy do I have a fun toy to share with you! I can remember when I was a little girl myself and seeing Tonka toys in stores and even though I was a little girl I’ve never been a real girly girl and with my dad doing construction all my life I enjoyed toys that were more boyish as my mother used to call them so I had many Tonka toys growing up and since I now have a little man to share my love of construction equipment, cars and trucks I knew immediately that Tonka toys would be on the top of our shopping list this year and when I was given the opportunity to review a Tonka Strong Arm Garbage Truck, I was beyond excited and couldn’t wait to get to try this toy out!

The Strong Arm Garbage Truck is a burly free-wheeling vehicle with a multi-action trigger-lever built right in. Pull and rev-up the lever and watch the sparks fly in the arm’s window as the truck rumbles. Squeeze the lever’s trigger to raise the waste container into the truck’s hopper. There is also access to the back through a hinged door. This sturdy vehicle is kid-powered free-wheeling action!

My Thoughts:

We were sent a Tonka Strong Arm Garbage Truck to review and even thought “Bug” hasn’t seen it nor gotten to play with it yet, my husband and I have really tested it out and I know it may sound funny but I get just as excited as a little kid when it comes to trying new toys and games so this one being that I’ve always been a fan of Tonka toys is really right up my ally!

I love that the Garbage Truck it big enough that “Bug” will have no problems what so ever pushing it around and playing with it and that he will be able to pick up and haul “waste” while playing and my absolute favorite part about the Garbage truck is it’s pull lever that when you pull it, you can see the sparks fly and it’s just really super neat! Since, having the Garbage Truck on hand and when the little man is at his grandparents house the hubby and I have been playing around with the truck to discover all of it’s features and even after we did our initial review on the truck Chad still sneaks into my office to play around with it! I told you I had a house full of kids even though I only have one that is actually allowed to call himself a kid :0)!

I feel like when “Bug” sees the Tonka Strong Arm Garbage Truck on Christmas morning under the tree his eyes will light up and the garbage picking will be on!! You think I could coach him into cleaning up all the wrapping paper mess he will make??? Yeah, me either, but it was a quick thought! I’m also feeling pretty confident that this truck will be able to outlast the constant play of a 3year old just for the simple fact of the other Tonka toys we have owned in the past they are of the highest quality and super durable!

Bottom Line:

I’m very excited to be able to give this Tonka Strong Arm Garbage Truck to “Bug” on Christmas morning and I have a sneaking suspicion that my hubby will be glad he doesn’t have to hide to play with it any more as well as how happy “Bug” will be with it! “Bug” loves all things big and that has wheels so I know this is going to make a perfect gift for him!

I would feel very confident in saying that if you have a little man on your shopping list this holiday season to suggest checking out the Tonka Strong Arm Garbage Truck and the rest of the Tonka Toys available in stores! I feel they will be a huge hit with any little man you decide to buy them for and I feel you are getting a good durable and high quality toy that wont break your pocket book!
