Kuhn Rikon Review (Christmas Wish List 2010)

Now that it’s the beginning of the week of Thanksgiving here in the US, so begins the hustle and bustle of holiday cooking and if your family is anything like mine you cook the entire week leading up to Thanksgiving and the day of the big feast and then the entire family gets together at one home and enjoys good food and good company! Well one of my biggest challenges about helping prepare big holiday feasts is that we only live 3 miles from my parents where we get together on the holidays but during the drive between here and there the food we cook at home gets cool and we end up having to reheat it before we dine so when I was given the opportunity to review the Cook & Serve from Kuhn Rikon, I couldn’t wait to try it out because it could save having to reheat food before dinner during the holidays!

My Thoughts:

I was sent the Cook & Serve in orange to review and I have to say both my husband and I were both excited to be able to try out this cook wear for the holidays! I have to say that our Cook & Serve arrived very timely and was packaged great and to me when I purchase something online I want it to be shipped well packed and show up on my door step all in one piece and that is exactly how my Cook & Serve was shipped to us! Once it arrived we immediately decided to give it a try to make sure it would hold up to our holiday need and we were very impressed at the results!

To test our new Cook & Serve, I decided to make up a batch of homemade beef and noodle soup and take it to my parents for dinner one night and I have to say I’m very impressed at how much this Cook & Serve will actually hold, just by looking at it I wasn’t expecting it to hold enough beef and noodle soup to feed all 7 of us but it did easily and we even had left overs. Since they say the Cook & Serve will keep the food warm for up to an hour with the neoprene sleeve I had to try it out and I took the soup off the stove around 30 minuets before going to my parents and before everyone got off work and when dinner time came around the soup was just right! Not to hot and defiantly not to cold! One other thing I’m really liking about the Cook & Serve neoprene sleeve is that when I’m taking the pot directly off the stove and putting it on the table to serve from I can slip the neoprene sleeve on the pot and it protects my counter tops and table from getting damaged by the hot pot itself!!!!

I’m very impressed with both the way the Cook & Serve pan cooks, it cooks very evenly and I have not had any problems with any of the food I have cooked sticking to the pan and I’m loving how well the lid actually seals, which makes cooking noodles and pasta a whole lot easier and quicker than with other pots and lids that don’t seal as well! The clean up of the Cook & Serve is super easy as well just pop the pan and lid in the dishwasher with your other dinner dishes and your good to go!

Bottom Line:

I’m extremely pleased with the performance of the Cook & Serve from Kuhn Rikon, with both the cooking and keeping the food warm for some time after taking it off the stove so everyone can have a nice warm meal even when they are going to be home later than everyone else for supper! I’m also looking forward to using my Cook & Serve for my part of the hot holiday cooking this year at Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!!

If you have holiday cooking to do this year but have to transport it to another place for dinner I recommend picking up a Cook & Serve by Kuhn Rikon, I think you will be just as happy with yours as I am with mine! Remember you can use your Cook & Serve for much more than just holidays, I use mine for family dinners, Sunday after Church dinners, Church dinners and so much more!
