Dirt Devil Gator Review (Christmas Wish List 2010)

As a mom to a very messy soon to be 3 year old little boy and to a very rambunctious and messy Boxer pup, keeping my home spotless like I did before dogs and kids is very much impossible!!! I know I pick up our living room and kitchen areas 10+ times a day and it still gets messed right back up and the one thing I can not stand is for food crumbs to be stuffed down between the cushions on our couch and love seat but with “Bug” and Cash it seems like nothing I did would help but that was until I was given the opportunity to review the Dirt Devil Gator from Dirt Devil and it’s made my daily grind of cleaning and re-cleaning the furniture so much easier and to be honest I rather enjoy it now!

Our Thoughts:

We were sent the Dirt Devil Gator 15.6V Cordless Hand Vac to review and I can’t tell you how excited I was to be able to review his cordless hand vac, because I have never owned a cordless handheld vacuum and every time I had to clean up a mess on the furniture I had to drag out our big vacuum, add the attachment the clean up and to be honest I wasn’t happy with the results of my regular size vacuum when cleaning my furniture and car!

Our Dirt Devil Gator arrived very quickly and I immediately started charging it and I let “Bug” and Cash play all day without cleaning the furniture behind them so I would have a workable surface when my Gator was charged and ready to go!! The next morning I got up and was probably to excited to get started on my daily housework since I had a new toy to play with, I of course went directly to the laundry room got my Gator and went to work on my couch and loveseat and I was completely blown away with the results of the Gator! I know that I had vacuumed them 48 hours before using the Gator on them so I knew they couldn’t be that dirty right? Well I was so wrong, the stuff that the Gator picked up was amazing, and the best part is that it picked up all of the dog hair and dust that had settled down into the cracks and crevices of the couch and loveseat! The one feature I absolutely love about my Gator is the pull out nozzle so that I can really get into the crevices and get all the dust and grime out of our furniture to keep my home clean and healthy, because with “Bug’s” allergies it’s very important to keep our furniture clean and dust free!

Ok, so I didn’t stop with the couch and loveseat, I came up with ever excuse I could to use my new toy in every room of the house!! I love to use it in our bathrooms to do a quick vacuuming of our bath rugs and using the Gator makes it so much easier than our traditional upright vacuum! I’ve also used my Gator to dust our curtains, and again I was not disappointed it worked like a dream and then the true test was to use it in my car! I basically spend more time in my car than I do at home and well to be honest it can get pretty filthy, so I had already loved the results of the Gator but I felt the true test would be when I used it on my car and I LOVE IT! I normally spend close to 2 hours cleaning my car carpet with my shop vac but it didn’t seem like it took no time for the Gator to have my car looking brand new! I love the crevice tool for between my seats and on my actual seats as well, I also love how well it works on “Bug’s” car seat!

Now, I’m not the only one who has enjoyed the Dirt Devil Gator being in our home, “Bug” has really enjoyed being able to help mommy clean the couch and loveseat and I love the fact that I can let him “vacuum” by himself while I’m doing other chores in the same room, it’s really made our daily chore routine so much more fun! Another great feature of the Gator is that it is bag less which makes getting rid of all the dirt and dust super easy just release the container and pour in the trash and your done!! Easy right, even my husband can do it :0)!

Bottom Line:

I can’t say anything bad about the Dirt Devil Gator I was sent to review, and trust me I’ve used the heck out of it and if it was going to give me anything negative to say as much as I’ve used it over and over I would have found it by now! I just want to kick myself for not getting a Dirt Devil cordless handheld vac a long time ago! It’s really made keeping my home dust free so much easier and I love to use it to keep my car looking fantastic! I just want to say a huge thank you to Dirt Devil for making my boring daily routine a little more fun!

I truly want to stress that the Dirt Devil Gator would make a wonderful gift for just about everyone on your shopping list this holiday season, especially new moms and well just moms in general as a mom myself I don’t know how I ever made it through the day without it! I’m thinking it would also make an awesome gift for dad’s and husbands as well because I know my husband has enjoyed using it a lot while cleaning his vehicle and other small things he needed it for, also think about the collage student in your life maybe they live in dorms or off campus but I’m sure they could sure use a Gator of their very own because lets face it most collage aged students don’t do much heavy duty cleaning and this would be great to give them a little boost :o) (yes, my sister I’m referring to you and your roommate, but you know I love ya!)
