So, we all know I’m addicted to makeup products right? Well have I got a treat for all of you makeup lovers like me, I was recently introduced to Illuminare Cosmetics while searching the net for a new foundation to replace my discount store brand that I’ve been using for years, because to be quite honest I’m just not getting the results I love from by “old” brand of foundation anymore so after checking out the story of Illuminare Cosmetics and learning more about the products they offer I was more than thrilled when I was given the opportunity to review a tube of their foundation and their applicator pad!

My name is Ruthie Molloy, and I’m the founder and inventor of the world’s first line of liquid mineral makeup. As an Esthetician and former Physical Therapist, my background has provided a solid base of knowledge from which I drew on when developing what I consider to be one of the best mineral makeup products on the market. 10 years ago I began working with post-laser resurfacing patients who were referred to me from the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Sacramento for makeovers using powder mineral makeup. The women on whom I first worked were the ones who gave me the idea of inventing this new liquid mineral foundation and creating this new line. They all wanted a liquid mineral makeup, and yes, they would continue to use mineral face powder if they felt the need, but they absolutely insisted that I make a liquid mineral makeup so they could have the benefits of the minerals' superior sun protection and the beauty of skin plumping and hydrating ingredients all in one. I also incorporated special patented ingredients that proved to make the skin appear years younger on contact and which boost the protective SPF value even higher than most mineral makeup you can find today.

So, with a passion for creating something new, and with my intention to make a product line that would protect women from the sun’s damaging effects, Illuminaré Cosmetics was born. It is important that we educate people about skin cancer and provide cosmetic products that are safe, non toxic, effective and protective. Although organic mineral makeup is available today, all minerals are inorganic by nature and do not spoil or encourage bacterial growth. We purposely do not use organic plant ingredients or plant extracts, only because we feel that some might be allergic to them. Our focus is on reliable and tested sun protection, great looking finishes and the high performance of our line.

The fact is that if you rely only on dusting on a little mineral powder, you are not going to get enough sun protection. But when I made this line, I made sure we did all the FDA regulation testing for SPF, Skin Sensitivity, Water Resistance, Photo Toxicity, and more. We passed all the tests with flying colors, so we could ensure that you would be getting really healthy, high performance sun protection built into each of the products we make.

My Thoughts:

I was sent Illuminare Cosmetics Extra Coverage (Concealing) Foundation/Concealer in Portonfino Porcelain and the Fast Application Pad along with a small sample of lip color and eyeshadow to review and I can say that I was way to excited to try the foundation and applicator pad and I was waiting rather impatiently for them to arrive and to me what seemed like months, which was actually a little under a week my samples arrived and I couldn’t wait to try them out!

First I have to tell you about the Extra Coverage (Concealing) Foundation/Concealer that I was sent! I generally have a super hard time picking the right shade to match my skin but using the color guide on the Illuminare Cosmetics website I chose the Portonfino Porcelain color and it was perfect! I’ve been using this foundation on a daily basis and I love it! The coverage is fantastic, I’ve used several different brands of foundation and different types like liquid, powdered and liquid to powered but I have never had results like this before! I love that it only takes a very small pea sized amount to cover my entire face and make it look flawless, I just don’t know how it does it! I have several freckles on across my nose and cheeks and I hate them but I’ve never been able to find a foundation to cover them…well that was until I used the foundation from Illuminare, I no longer feel self-conscious about my freckles and other imperfections on my face when using Illuminare because with one simple and quick application they are completely invisible! Thank you Illuminare!

Next, I want to say a bit about the amazing Fast Application Pad! Not only is this application pad super stylish and looks amazing setting in my makeup stand on my cosmetic cabinet it is super soft and makes applying the foundation super fast and best of all it allows the foundation to go on smooth and flawless! I can’t say enough about how much I’m loving this application pad, it’s the best one I have ever owned or used!

I was also sent a small sample of a the Café Latte All Day Eye Color and when they say all day they really mean all day! This color is really beautiful and goes on so smooth and to my surprise it dried almost instantly and looks awesome either alone or in a trio of other browns and whites! I love that I can use just a small dab of this eye color in the early mornings and it lasts way past nighttime and it doesn’t budge until I decide it’s time to take it off in the shower!

I also got to sample their All Day Mineral LipColor in Bliss and again I’m in love! This color is amazing and as the name says last all day long! I love that it doesn’t dry out your lips like other all day lip colors I’ve used in the past! I can’t wait to try the other colors of the All Day Mineral LipColor!

Bottom Line:

I could not be happier with the results that I have gotten from using the Illuminare Cosmetics I was sent to review and I would highly recommend checking them out to all of my friends, family and readers! After checking out the prices of the Illuminare Cosmetics I think that they are very reasonable and for the amount of time you can use one tube of the products you are defiantly going to be saving money in the long run and not to mention your going to love the flawless results! I’ve been using the foundation for several weeks now and I still haven’t left a dent in the tube! I love that I also don’t have to reapply any of the products to keep them looking fresh and flawless!

I think that any teen, collage student or well just any woman on your holiday list would love to find Illuminar Cosmetics under the tree this year or in their stocking! I know I would be one happy mama if I found some in my stocking this year, maybe I should work twice as hard next year being nice so maybe Santa will leave me some goodies next year :0)!
