Go! Go! Sports Girls Review and Giveaway (Christmas Wish List 2010)

I don’t have a daughter but I do have several nieces to buy for during the holiday season and not to mention all of their birthdays and such so it’s nice when I find the perfect gift that fit’s each of their personalities to the T! Recently while looking for a particular gift for one of my nieces I happened to come across Go! Go! Sports Girls and I knew immediately that one of these dolls would be perfect for her since she is so into sports!

Jodi Norgaard has always been involved in sports and for many years has coached “Girls on the Run”, a program which encourages girls to make healthy choices in life through running. While working with the young girls, Jodi had an idea. “I realized there was a need for a positive doll for girls that would be age appropriate, proportioned properly and send a positive message about a healthy lifestyle – physically, mentally and emotionally – through sports.”

Jodi spent two years launching the product, from rough sketch to the fall of 2008 debut of the tennis girl doll at the U.S. Open in New York, where 500 dolls sold out in six days. While designing the doll, she worked very closely with her consultant, her daughter. “She was the perfect person to have involved. She was 10 at the time and she knew exactly what she wanted in a doll.”

“The whole point of the business is to send the message to girls to dream big and go for it.” says Jodi. In addition to providing a positive message for girls, Jodi is donating a portion of the proceeds to organizations that share her mission.

Our Thoughts:

I was sent Tennis Girl, Gracie to review and I have to say my niece could not have been happier to get Gracie! She loves to play Tennis and many other sports so this was really right up her ally, and the fact that Gracie has blond hair and so does my niece it just worked out perfect! Now, of course before I gave the doll to her I had to check it out in all fairness since I did have to do a honest review right? I gave the doll a good look over and I must say the doll is put together very nicely and very high quality! I’m also loving all the little accessories that come along with Gracie, it really makes the doll that much more special!

She has carried this doll around in her backpack since getting it and apparently from what I hear it’s now her favorite doll and her new sleeping partner at night! I’m proud to say that even after many days on the playground and at the park the doll still looks like new and it’s really gave my niece a new and much needed friend when she is at home!

Bottom Line:

My niece loves her new friend and is very happy to report Gracie is now her new favorite doll and they have a lot in common! I love that the dolls are made very high quality, and that they all have a favorite sport and also I feel that they really inspire girls to stick to their sports dreams and get active!!! As a huge sports fan myself, I love each and everyone of these little cuties!

If you have a young girl in your life or on your holiday shopping list this season you should really check out these Go! Go! Sports Girls to help inspire her to get active and play sports! I know I would have loved to find one of these under my Christmas tree when I was a little girl!
