I have something that I think is super special and adorable to share with you all today that is part of our ongoing Christmas Wish List Gift Guide this year and what is it you may be asking and it’s PetCakes! These are the most adorable stuffed animals that I have seen in my entire life and as soon as I seen them I knew they would make a wonderful addition to our Christmas Wish List and when I was given the opportunity to review them I was so excited and I knew exactly who these were going to be for!

Fred Catapano
Founder and Owner of Well Made Toy Manufacturing Corporation
Fred Catapano started out in 1966 with a $1,000 loan, two sewing machines and a passion for creating soft playthings. By 1968, Well Made Toy Manufacturing Corporation was in business and Catapano was actively involved in the creating, manufacturing and selling of plush toys and rag dolls. Today, Well Made Toy has offices and design staff in New York, Hong Kong and China, and boasts the most extensive line of soft rag dolls in the business.

Matt Nuccio

Matt Nuccio is the co-owner and creative director of Design Edge Inc., a multi award-winning international studio with offices in New York and Hong Kong, that has partnered with Well Made Toy Manufacturing Corporation on the all-new PetCakes brand. With over 20 years experience in the toy industry, Design Edge is one of the leading toy design and inventing firms in the world. Design Edge is a laboratory for new and creative approaches in designing toys, packaging, displays, and advertising as well as engineering and manufacturing for hundreds of toy companies both big and small.

Nuccio's skill for designing toys began at the age of five years old. After watching a Kung Fu program, he realized there weren't any ninja toys in the market. Nuccio felt there was a need for the product and with help from his father and investors the product was eventually licensed by Tyco Toys. This early success earned Nuccio the nickname of "Ninja Kid" and firmly launched him on his future career path.

In 2008 Nuccio was elected co-chairman of the TIA (Toy Industry Association) associate panel representing all designers and inventors in the toy industry. He has also written columns focusing on design, inventing, engineering and manufacturing for Toys and Family Entertainment, ToyBook, Royaltie$ and Licensing Book.


My Thoughts:

I was sent all four PetCakes series 1 which is the most adorable stuffed puppies that I have ever seen! I love that these are adorably packed in a cupcake wrapper and stuffed down inside so you don’t know what they are until you pull them up and while they are stuffed down in the cupcake wrapper the tops of their heads make them look like a yummy cupcake so you get a big cute surprise when you remove them from the cupcake wrapper! I have decided to use each of the four PetCakes I was sent as stocking stuffers form our older cousins that are to old for toys but are still young enough to find these adorable and I’m paring them up with a gift card to their favorite mall stores! I just can’t wait to give these cuties to them on Christmas and see their reactions!

Now, my little man has spotted them since the arrived and I’ve had a time keeping him from claiming them as his own so I did decide to let him choose his favorite to call his own and he decided on Randy Candy and he has since played with him daily and even uses him as his sleeping buddy at night!

Since I received my set of series one PetCakes which are all adorable little pups they have now came out with series two which are the most adorable woodland critters and I already have my eye on my future desk mate Honey Cakes:

Bottom Line:

I just love all of the PetCakes from series one and two and I’m looking forward to seeing what else they come up with in the future series….I’m sure they are going to be just adorable!!!

I am sure that anyone on your holiday list this year would love to find their very own PetCake under the tree! I am almost positive that these would make wonderful stocking stuffers or as the main item in a tween or teen gift basket this year. You can also do like I have decided to do with my teen cousins and pare one of these darling PetCakes with a gift card to their favorite store!!
