Moody Mamas only at Target.com Review (Christmas Wish List 2010)

As you may or may not know my husband and I have recently decided to add one more special addition to our family and although I’m not currently expecting a baby, hopefully real soon we will get some good news and can let “Bug” know he is going to be a big brother :0)! Now I remember when my mother was pregnant with my little sister (we are 8yrs apart) and the maternity clothing she had to wear and to be quite honest I thought it was hideous and when I found out that I was pregnant with “Bug” my fear was having to wear clothing like my mother did with my sister but in 16 years maternity clothing has came along way and now you can get maternity clothing where some are much cuter than regular, everyday women’s clothing and I had so much fun shopping when I was pregnant and recently since we decided to add a new addition and I was given the chance to review a piece of clothing from the Moody Mamas Maternity line available at Target.com, I just couldn’t pass up the chance after seeing how adorable their line is!

About Moody Mamas (Taken From Website):

Meet the Moody Mamas

In 2007, Marta and Elise embarked on a quest to create a clothing line that would make women feel empowered, vivacious and sexy…but they weren’t thinking maternity. No, no… Newbies to Los Angeles and recent college grads, Marta and Elise were living the single life and were far from thinking about having children. Nevertheless, after researching niche markets and discovering the perils of maternity fashion, Marta and Elise decided it was their mission to “take the frump out of the bump” and give the mom’s of their generation something “cool” to wear during pregnancy.

Since they had never been pregnant themselves, Marta and Elise enrolled in their own version of “maternity boot- camp”. During this “period of enlightenment” they went to pre-natal yoga and lamaze classes, interviewed many pregnant/nursing women, convened with a whole slew of OB-GYNS and pediatricians, and even wore fake bellies. One year later, after familiarizing themselves with the world of maternity, they released their first Moody Mamas collection in Spring 2008.

In its debut season, New York Magazine exclaimed, “it (Moody Mamas) has originality written all over it!”. Innovative in style and attitude, Moody Mamas rocked the maternity fashion world and was immediately well received by customers, celebrities, and retailers alike.

Thrilled with their initial accomplishment, the kooky duo decided to make their brand even more fabulous and enlisted friend and famed designer, Christian Siriano to design the “Fierce Mamas by Christian Siriano” collection. A departure from the moo-moos of yesteryear, the Fierce Mamas collection was created for pregnant fashionistas who wanted to be red carpet ready. Sold in boutiques worldwide and high end retailers such as Nordstrom and Harrods., the Fierce Mamas collection provided a chic aesthetic and a sense of luxury for the expectant mom.

In its sophomore year, Moody Mamas and its owners have enjoyed continued success. Whether they are designing a cover look for a magazine or creating a capsule collection for Target.com, Marta and Elise are evolving as designers and business women. Though still single and without children, the ladies have emerged as experts in the land of maternity fashion. From Access Hollywood to The Today Show to People Magazine and Fit Pregnancy, Marta and Elise have become staples in the media. Regularly sharing their tips, tricks and “Hollywood mom” secrets, Marta and Elise are the “go-to gals” for all things mommy. Whether they are offering their advice on tv or serving as columnists in magazines, Marta and Elise love encouraging women to embrace their style during pregnancy and maintain their sense of self on their journey into motherhood.

Moody Mamas is a luxury maternity brand that provides chic clothing for the expectant mom. Loved by celebrities and everyday moms alike, Moody Mamas has revamped the maternity fashion world. Gone are the days when wearing moo moos and giant bows are the norm. Moody Mamas is the maternity brand of the new generation of moms and is determined to “take the frump out of the bump” and restore style and confidence for all moms pregnant and post-partum!

My Thoughts:

I was given the opportunity to choose an item from Moody Mamas Fall/Winter Target line and I will just say first and foremost they have some of the maternity clothes that I have ever seen and it did take me a while to make a final decision since I loved almost all of the pieces in the line but I did finally decide on the Red Printed Blouse w/ Pleats in a size M since when I was pregnant with “Bug” I wore a size M and I’m still around the same size as I was before I got pregnant with him I figured it would be a safe choice to make.

My top arrived super fast and it was even cuter in person once it arrived, now even though I’m not pregnant yet I just had to try it on and I paired it with a pair of skinny jeans I had recently bought that will also make good maternity pants since they have an elastic waist band (can you tell I’m ready to have another baby?) and I can even tell you how cute this outfit turned out and I’ve actually worn it around the house quite a bit so I could do a good review on the top from Moody Mamas!!

The Red Printed Blouse w/ Pleats that I chose to review is super soft and very comfortable on the skin and not to mention it’s super cute with a pair of jeans or a jean skirt if you like to wear skirts. The combination of cotton and spandex makes this top not only super comfortable but allows it to stretch as it needs to so you could wear it throughout your entire pregnancy if you wanted, not to mention that I am so loving the pleats and the way they lay on the top. I feel that the top is very high quality and very well made. I’ve put it through the wash/dry process a couple of times since it’s arrival and have been very pleased at it’s durability and it still look brand new.

Bottom Line:

I’m loving the top I chose from Moody Mamas line only available at Target.com and all of the other awesome items in the Target.com Moody Mamas line and once we do get pregnant, I know where I’m going to shop to find my super comfortable and stylish maternity clothing!!!!

Even if you aren’t in the market for maternity clothes yourself you may just have someone on your holiday shopping list this year that is expecting a bundle of joy and I would totally recommend checking out the Moody Mamas line at Target.com because all the items they offer are super cute and from my expertise with the top are very comfortable!!!!
