ColorMetrics Review and Giveaway (Christmas Wish List 2010)
I will be the first to admit that I don’t fit the normal profile of a SAHM and mommy, since I’m totally into piercings, tattoos and fun and wacky hair colors and to be honest at times I get some very strange looks from the older moms around here, since it’s a small town and anything less than normal is frowned on but lets face it I’m only 25 and I’m a little more on the Edgy side so I’m constantly looking at the latest in Rock ‘n’ Roll fashions and hair styles! I love to add a splash of color here and there in my hair just to spice it up for a change, but I do know that being a mommy I have to tone it down at times so I’m really into the temporary loud hair colors so when I found ColorMetrics and their line of Streekers I was thrilled because they offered all the colors I love and at very affordable prices and when I was given the chance to review some of the colors I couldn’t wait to get started!!!
About Streekers (Taken From Website):
Streekers is true temporary hair color with a difference. Instant. Liquid. Washes out when you want it out. Not a mascara, not a crayon, not a paint. But a cool new hair color that uses innovative technology. In 8 vibrant colors: pink, blue, ultra violet, red, green, yellow, orange, purple.
Streekers is a stroke of genius at a moment’s notice. It’s so easy to apply with a sleek, sponge-tip applicator that ensures perfect coverage and control. Streekers can be used over mousse, styling gel or wax and followed by hair spray. Best of all, you can brush your hair after Streekers dries. It won’t flake off (unlike other bright temporary hair colors). Your hair will be soft and the color will remain vibrant.
Streekers shades are vivid on blondes and blonde streaks and show as subtle highlights on darker hair.
Go Wild!
Change your color, change your look, change your mind, and do it again. A dazzling range of 8 colorageous, style-popping shades give you lots of options with no commitment. Use it like cosmetics for instant impact. A breeze to apply or take off.
PUT IT ON
Lift hair up and away from scalp in small sections. Apply
Streekers to dry hair, from root to tip, in long strokes. Dries
fast. Wait a minute between color streaks when you’re
designing 2-3-4 tone effects.
TAKE IT OFF
Just shampoo. Rinse. Repeat as needed.
Bleached blonde hair: may need 2-3 shampoos.
Skin: Wash area with soap and water.
My Thoughts:
I was sent a tube of yellow, blue, purple, red and orange Streakers to review and I have to say I was thrilled and I couldn’t wait to get started creating amazing splashes of color and awesomely rockin’ hair styles! I immediately decided to test out the purple Streakers, so I set to work putting it in my hair.
I first want to say that I love the design of these bottles of color, they make it super easy to get the amount of color you need without making a mess and getting a lot of excess color like some of the other temporary colors that I have used in the past. I would recommend using latex gloves when applying this color if you are planning on doing a larger section of hair vs. just a few highlights to keep the color off your hands although it does wash off easy with soap and water!
I decided to do the front/underneath part of my hair with the purple color and I couldn’t believe how awesome it turned out and it didn’t take but about 10 minuets to get the color on and once it was dry it brushed and styled just like my regular hair vs. some of the other color products I’ve used that made my hair super stiff! Just have a look at how great it turned out!!!:
Now, my biggest fear was washing it out my hair has been bleached and highlighted so sometimes I have a super hard time getting the temporary color to come out of my hair without staining it and staying in for weeks on end but that was totally not the case with the Streekers, I washed my hair a couple of times in the shower and once it was dry all the color was gone and it was ready to try the other colors I got.
Bottom Line:
I have to say I love all the colors and I have created some pretty rockin’ styles in both mine and “Bug’s” hair and I love them, they are so easy to apply and wash out super easy and doesn’t damage my hair!! So if you have a teen or maybe you are looking for a change in your hair style but your not quite sure about adding some new and unnatural colors to your hair I totally recommend checking out the 8 amazing colors available from ColorMetrics and Streekers!

ReplyDeleteDark brown would be my shade. What a great product. It really does fill a void. My grays start showing two weeks after coloring my hair and I hold off on coloring because of possible damage to my hair. This product is just the fix needed.
