This year I have so many kids to buy Christmas gifts for and they all in the age ranges from 3-6 and to be honest I’ve been having a pretty hard time finding the perfect gift for my little man since he already has just about everything, so I decided to take my search online and I happened to discover KinderBike USA I knew that it would make him the perfect gift this year, since he is really into trying to ride a tricycle and asking for a bike for Christmas I figured the KinderBike would be perfect to help teach him balance while he has fun “riding his bike”. So, of course when they agreed to allow me to do a review and giveaway right here on my blog I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to get the bike in.
About KinderBike USA (Taken From Website):
KinderBike® has changed very little since it's inception on the banks of the Isar River, in the tiny Bavarian village of Lenggries, Germany in 2004. Heinz Petzold gave his grandson Luke a laufrad (run bike) for his second birthday and KinderBike was born. KinderBike introduced the first run bikes to the North American market in 2005. Since then, hundreds of thousands of young riders - some as young as 18 months - have fine tuned their balance, coordination and agility and learned to ride.
KinderBike afforded parents a mechanism to get their kids outside and active as they glided along side of them on short walks. KinderBike's commitment to quality bolstered it's reputation and encouraged both traditional bicycle retailers and parents to ditch training wheels in favor of this "balance-first" method. Since then, the "balance-first" method has been widely accepted as the most effective way to teach young children to ride a bike and has spurred a host of imitators.
Today, KinderBike remains the leading manufacturer of high-end trainers and is widely regarded as the leading innovator of quality balance trainers.
I was sent a red Laufrad Mini KinderBike for review and it arrived super quickly and I left it up to my husband to assemble the bike and it was super easy for him to put together and all the tools needed to put it together without any trouble! Now, my husband isn’t the best of persons to put anything together where he has to read the instructions, but just because I was right there with him he got it put together correctly the first time and it took him less then 20 minuets and it was ready to ride!!
We were planning on giving “Bug” the bike on Christmas morning but he happened to walk in as Chad was finishing the final touches putting it together we went ahead and let him have it and in no time at all he was cruzin’ all over the house!! He already has quite good balance, but I think it can only get better with the KinderBike and I can’t wait for the weather to warm up and stay dry long enough for us to get him outside with his new bike!!!! The color is awesome by the way I’m really loving the shiny red and it is perfect for our little man, since he love bright colors!!
“Bug” hasn’t be able to get his KinderBike outside yet due to the wet and cold weather we have been having lately so he has been riding it all around the house and he has had a couple of whip outs and the bike has held up great to all the wear he has already put on it because he is on it quite a bit during the day and I’m loving that it’s getting him up and playing instead of just lying around watching cartoons all day long. One other thing I am loving about the KinderBike is that when “Bug” is really going he can make a quick turn with out a crash now where as when he first got the bike he had a problem keeping the bike upright when he went to make a quick turn or try to avoid running over Cash, so we have defiantly seen results in just the short time we have owned the bike.
“Bug” and I both love his new KinderBike and can’t wait to get it outside so that when I go on my daily walks he can go along with me on his bike and not only does it get him up from in front of the TV it teaches him important motor skills and you definatly don’t want to skimp on teaching motor skills to your children. I have noticed that the KinderBike is so much easier for “Bug” to control vs. his metal tricycle and he much prefers his KinderBike when he gets the choice (we keep them both inside since we can’t get outside)! Chad and I are both loving the results we are already seeing in “Bug’s” motor skills and how quickly he picked up on riding the bike and being able to keep it upright most of the time now.
If you are looking into purchasing your little one a bike this year for the holidays I really recommend checking out the balance bikes available at KinderBike USA! I’m convinced that they really do help improve a child’s motor skills, just by the short time we have owned ours and I think they are one of the coolest things on the market available to kids everywhere!
