Learning Curve Dino Track Adventure Set (Motorized Train Set) Review (Christmas Wish List 2010)
My little “Bug” loves the PBS show Dinosaur Train and has made it quite clear that he want’s the Dinosaur Train for Christmas, he has seen them online and at Target so when I was offered the opportunity to review a product from the hit PBS Show I immediately decided on the Learning Curve Dino Track Adventure Set (Motorized Train Set) since it is the train and comes with three figures from the show I had a feeling that it would be just what he had on his list this year.
About Learning Curve Dino Track Adventure Set (Motorized Train Set) (Taken From Website):
Based on the new Henson PBS hit show, the Adventure Track Set allows children to combine both dinosaur and train play into one action packed set. With this set, all of your collectible dinosaurs can ride in the lights and sounds train car and explore all 7 of the cool dinosaur destinations. The Adventure Track Set includes 3 collecitible dinosaurs, Buddy, Mr Conductor and Laura to help get the exploration started. Comes with over 6 ' of track, 3 stations and a mortorized 3- car Train for an incredible value.
Our Thoughts:
As I mentioned we were sent the Learning Curve Dino Track Adventure Set (Motorized Train Set) to review for the Christmas Wish List 2010 and it arrived super quick and to my surprise the box was quite a bit bigger than I had expected but it is so cute I had expected it to look similar to the “real Dinosaur Train” from the show but it looks identical and comes with 3 of the dinosaurs from the show including my little man’s favorite Buddy, Mr. Conductor and Laura! The figures are made of solid plastic so I’m not seeing them getting damaged any times soon unless our dog gets hold of them but as much as “Bug” likes the show and has been wanting them toys I don’t think he will leave them around for Cash to get them.
Now, this is going to be under the tree for “Bug” on Christmas morning so we didn’t let him see it to review but we did have some time while he was visiting his aunt to check out the train set for ourselves and it was super easy to set up and works great! We have not yet purchased him the other cars or figures to the train set but we are planning a trip to the nearest Target or purchasing them online at Amazon.com so that he will have the whole set. I just think this is one of the cutest toys I have ever seen and I can’t wait for “Bug” to find it under the tree on Christmas morning!!
I did notice that the train doesn’t move extremely fast so I feel it will be just right for “Bug” from some of our other train set experiences where he enjoys playing with the train as it moves and he has a tendency to push the train himself and not even have it turned on, so I don’t think the lack of speed will be a problem with him. I also like the fact that all the parts of the set are small enough that they will be able to be packed up for trips to nanny’s house on a daily basis.
Bottom Line:
I feel like this is a very good quality toy and the perfect toy for a smaller toddler just beginning to get interested in trains and if your kiddo is a Dinosaur Train fan I’m sure they are going to love it! The only problem that I seemed to find was the holes on the bottom the figures was a little difficult to use but I’m convinced with play that they will stretch and work wonderfully!
I would recommend this toy if you have younger aged children that are fans of The Dinosaur Train Show on PBS, now it’s not got a lot of bells and whistles but for true fans of the show that won’t matter, I’m very excited to give this to my son on Christmas and see his reaction because it’s a toy that he has been wanting for a while now.
