191 Unlimited/Kids Review and Giveaway

When I have a little free time to just shop for clothing for my husband or “Bug”, I tend to look for unique one of a kind pieces and the more simple fashions especially for “Bug” so when we started discussing what we were to wear in our yearly family Christmas photo, we decided on the men/boys wearing nice button up shirts and the women/girls wearing a nice girly type shirt. I loved the idea but I did have an issue finding the perfect shirt for “Bug” so when I was given the opportunity to review a couple of nice shirts from 191 Unlimited Kids, I was so excited especially after checking out their selection of shirts for boys online, I just knew that this would be the shirt for the family photo!

191kids was created in 2008 by Parth Sharma and Girish Karnani. After successfully launching their mens line with just $191, the two best friends decided to offer their stylish shirts for boys as well.

The inspiration for the line was simple: fans of 191 Unlimited repeatedley had been asking for the shirts to be made in boys sizes. Sharma and Karnani decided to give it a shot and it worked! The 191kids line debuted in Nordstrom in the Fall of 2008 and has since gained much esteem in the world of boys clothing.

Sharma and Karnani quickly discovered that the boys versions of their shirts were perfect for special occasions such as Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs, Easter, or any type of event that requires boys to look nice but not necessarily need a suit.

In addition to the fashionable shirts, 191kids will be offering a full collection of boys items in the near future.


Our Thoughts:

We were sent two gorgeous shirts from the 191 Kids toddler collection to review and I have to tell you I think I was way more excited to see them arrive than “Bug” was and he, if I haven’t mentioned it before loves to get new clothing :0)!!!

The first shirt we were sent to review was a super adorable blue/black multicolored short sleeve button up!!! I just absolutely love this shirt and we ordered it in a size 3T and I had thought that it would initially be to large for him since he is on the rather small size, but it fit’s him wonderfully and looks great! I love that this shirt is versatile enough that he can wear it during the winter months or summer months with either a undershirt or jacket to keep him warm during the colder months! Over the past few weeks he has worn this shirt at least once a week and it has quickly became his favorite of all the clothing in his closet! I personally love the color and style of this shirt and it’s defiantly made of high quality materials and holds up great to all the recent wash/dry cycles we have put it through over the last few weeks!

We were also sent a gorgeous grey stripped long sleeve shirt and this is the shirt we decided to let “Bug” wear to our yearly family photo and if I do say so he was one of the sharpest looking boys in the whole bunch! I love that this shirt can be used as a more dressy option or dressed down for a very cute casual look once again this is another one of those shirts that will be very versatile in any weather since we can easily roll the sleeves up to give it more of a hip look if we decide too :0)!!! This shirt is also very well made and holds up well to washing and drying!

Out of both of the shirts we were sent “Bug” most definitely has a favorite although he is happy to wear either one but when he get’s his choice it’s almost always going to be the blue/black stripped short sleeve we were sent! I really can’t thank 191 Kids enough for allowing me to do this review and for sending me the perfect shirt for our family photo, it was absolutely perfect and we have really enjoyed both the shirts we were sent and I know “Bug” will be adding other styles of 191 Kids clothing to his wardrobe very soon and since 191 has clothing for men I have a feeling that my husband will be adding some 191 to his wardrobe as well!

Bottom Line:

I could not be happier with the two shirts 191 Kids chose to send us and I honestly don’t think I could have made a better selection if I chose myself! I love both of the shirts and I think they make “Bug” look absolute adorable and they are now our must wear for our more special occasions and when we go out to a nice family dinner. I really can’t wait to see our family photos with “Bug” in his new shirt I think they turned out amazing!!! I’m also very impressed with the quality of these shirts and how well they hold up to the wash/dry process, because unlike other high dollar button up dress shirts we have purchased for “Bug” in the past these shirts have not lost any of the buttons or have yet to start unraveling with is amazing and I have to say that I would defiantly purchase 191 Kids shirts in the future for all of our dressy shirt needs!
