Tender Corp Review and Giveaway

As summer is winding down and coming to a close, our family is outdoors more than ever enjoying the nice cool fall weather! But, just because the weather is changing doesn’t mean the dangers of bugs, bumps, bruises and scrapes are gone along with the hot weather, and to me it seems this is the time of the year that all the stuff I just mentioned gets worse! I don’t know if it’s because we spend more time outdoors or what but I always try to keep products around that will help us protect us and to care for us after we get hurt or bit by bugs, so while surfing through websites one day I stumbled upon Tender Corp and I was immediately intrigued by the products they had to offer and I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to review a few of their proudcts.

The basic solution to bites and stings, from black flies and other insects, came relatively easily. Ammonia hydroxide was a known home remedy for bug bite itch, dating back to the days of pharaohs. Ken focused on combining it in an effective formula. He searched for a way to package the solution for convenient use, especially for the many times a household ammonia bottle was not handy or easy to carry.

By 1975, under the name of Tender Corporation, Ken and his son Ted produced their first 50,000 units of insect bite relief, AfterBite®. The pen-like, applicator-tipped, plastic tube was an instant hit. The success of AfterBite® preceded the subsequent launches of Ben's®, Natrapel® 8 hour, Easy Care®, AfterSting® and AfterBurn®.

Our Thoughts:

I was sent several products to review and with the cooling of the weather it didn’t take us long to need some of the products we were sent.

The first product we tried out was the AfterBite Outdoor Combo Pack that includes a tube of AfterBite Outdoor for adults and a tube of the AfterBite Kids, and with the mosquito out in full force in the evening it didn’t take but a night or so to realize that we were going to have to use this on both Chad and I but “Bug” as well. We really like the AfterBite Outdoor for adults, it works fast to stop the itching and it seems to speed the healing process a bit. Chad has used this more than I have since he seems to constantly get into ticks and chiggers and he now swears by this ointment! We also had to use the AfterBite Kids on “Bug” after a couple of mosquito bites on his legs and it did not seem to burn or irritate him in any way he actually told us that his leg quit itching and felt better!

The next product we got to sample was one we are using quite regularly now and that is the Natrapel 8 Hour Deet-Free Repellent. We have started doing quite a bit of fishing in the evenings since the weather has started to cool down and we have completely replaced our old incest repellents with the Natrapel 8 Hour repellent, and could not be happier with it! Not only does this repellent work wonders for the whole length of time we are out in the boat or just lounging outside, and best of all it’s Deet-Free and that makes me feel good about using it on “Bug”!

We were also sent a bottle of Healthifeet to review and this was one of the products I was most excited to try. I have always as long as I can remember had cold feet…..all the time even during the hot summer months my feet stayed cold and I really hate it. So when I pulled this out of the box I thought there may be hope in warming my feet up and not having to suffer from cold feet forever. Not only has this help tremendously to relive my cold feet and the discomfort that comes along with cold feet but it has also softened them and help relieve the scratchy dry patches on my heels! I will never be without a bottle of Healthifeet in my medicine cabinet again!

The last product and probably the most important product we were sent was the Easy Care Soft-Sided First Aid Kit and let me just start by saying this kit has everything you could possibly need to treat minor cuts, burns, bruises and scrapes at home. Now, I’ve had a lot of first aid kits in my life and I will admit that this is the best first aid kit I have ever owned! I’m loving that this kit is compact and easy to take with us to the park or in the car, we have had to use some of the Band-Aids for all of us and Chad has used the burn cream out of the kit and he has seemed pretty happy with the results. I’m also loving the tweezers that come with this kit and I’ve used them a couple of times to extract splinters out of “Bugs” feet and he didn’t even seem to mind when I used the tweezers in this kit vs. my normal tweezers.

Bottom Line:

We are all very pleased with every one of the products we were sent to review and have now made each of them a permanent place in our medicine cabinet. I have yet to find a bug bite medication that has worked both as fast and as well as the AfterBite and the fact that they have made one especially for kids is wonderful. We also could not ask for a better insect repellant that the one we were sent and I’m loving the Healthifeet and the way it leaves my feet both warm and silky smooth! As I stated above I’ve never owned a better first aid kit and I plan on keeping all of these products at hand for a long time to come.

I seriously recommend all of these products to anybody who enjoys the outdoors and has the occasional bug bite, cold feet or needs a handy first aid kit! You should really check out these products and consider giving them a special place in your medicine cabinet.

Roman Meal Bread Review and Giveaway

Bread is pretty much a major staple in our daily diets, now contrary to popular belief all bread is not created equal nor does it all taste the same and I’m very picky about what bread I feed my family. I’m always up to trying new breads and when I had the opportunity to review a couple of a varieties of bread from Roman Meal I was rather excited since I had heard a lot of good things about them from friends and family.

Our Thoughts:

We were sent…well rather we were delivered by the local Roman Meal bread delivery man, who was super friendly and he left us with two loafs of the Roman Meal Sandwich bread and two loafs of Roman Meal SunGrain 100% Whole Wheat and gave me a little piece of knowledge that I’m so glad he told me that I could get the SunGrain 100% Whole Wheat with “Bug’s” WIC.

I have to say that this bread was so fresh and smelled so good (even though the bread bag) that I could not wait to get my hands on it and taste it so me and “Bug” decided to have a quick snack of a slice of the Whole Wheat bread smeared with some creamy peanut butter and I have to say it’s been a long time since I had wheat bread that was so fresh and full of flavor! “Bug” isn’t really a fan of wheat bread, but he now asks for the “brown bread” (wheat bread) for all of his sandwiches and toast which is wonderful! I’ve always only ate wheat bread and sometimes some of it can be pretty stiff but that was so not the case with the Roman Meal wheat bread we were sent.

My husband doesn’t really eat wheat bread so he was the first to try the Sandwich bread that we were given to review and he said that it was some of the best “white” bread he had ever eaten. I just can’t believe that we haven’t given Roman Meal bread a chance until now. I myself have eaten a couple sandwiches out of the sandwich bread and to me the bread just really taste not only fresher but the taste itself is unlike our other brand we usually buy.

Bottom Line:

We are now sold on Roman Meal bread and will be buying it the next trip to the grocery store in which we need bread….and I’m sure that it’s going to be our main bread from now on! I’m loving that I can get the Roman Meal wheat bread on WIC and I love that “Bug” actually eats this wheat bread vs. the other wheat bread we have bought in the past. I’ve noticed that Chad is taking sandwiches for lunch more now since we got the sandwich bread because he said that it’s better than any sandwich that he could go buy in a sandwich store.

My Thoughts:

I was sent a Spin & Go Touchless Mop & Wringer to review and it just happened to arrive on the day that I had planned on mopping my entire kitchen and dining room area and I was kind of excited to mop this time because I got to try out the new Spin & Go.

Once I got all of the pieces out of the box, putting the mop together was a synch all I had to do was screw the mop handle together and pop on the mop head and it was ready to go! I immediately finished cleaning the counters and swept the floors to prepare them for my new Spin & Go and then I filled the Spin & Go mop bucket with my favorite Lavender scent pine sol up to the fill line with hot water and set off to my chore of mopping the floors!

I have to say that mopping my kitchen and dining room areas was so quick and easy and way less messy than my usual sponge mop that I went ahead and tackled both the bathrooms as well!

I’m loving that I can mop my floors and not have to touch the nasty water to wring my mop out because the Spin & Go has it’s very own built in wringer in it’s very own mop bucket so it makes getting your mop ready to go to the next spot or floor so easy and a whole lot less messy!

I’m loving that this mop head rotates 360 degrease and can reach into the super hard places that other mops can’t even think about reaching, Also when I did the clean white socks test (the only way to know your floors are truly clean) I was surprised that after spending some time on the kitchen and dining room floors they were just as white as they were when I put them on so I’m going to say that this mop cleans better than any other cleaning system I have ever tried! Bottom Line:

SUSTA Natural Sweetener Review and Giveaway

As you may know I’m currently trying to loose weight and eat healthier. One of my biggest set back to doing all this is my love of everything sweet and of course sugary drinks. My Thoughts:

I was sent a box of 50 packets of SUSTA Natural Sweetener to review and I could not wait to start using this sweetener in place of my current sweeteners and regular table sugar.

Now, we drink a lot of the old fashioned Southern Style Sweet Tea in our home and let me just stress the sweet part, my husband uses close to 3 cups of regular sugar to make one pitcher of his Sweet Tea and I will admit that I love his tea but it’s also just does not have room in my new diet since it’s loaded with so much sugar so the first thing I did when my SUSTA arrived was make me some un-sweet tea so that I could test out the sweetener and once I had my tea all nice and iced I decided it was time for the first SUSTA taste test and I added one package (only 5 calories!!!!) to my glass of tea and to my very pleasant surprise the tea sweetened with SUSTA was delicious and was just sweet enough for me! Bottom Line:

Better Batter Gluten Free Mixes Review and Giveaway

We are very lucky here in our household and none of us have Gluten allergies but I do have family members that do and to be quite honest with you it’s hard to bake goodies for family get together that are both Gluten Free and delicious! We have tried many different companies that offered baking mixes fro Gluten Free goodies but the taste to be quite honest was really bad and we were all better off to be goodie free than try to eat the Gluten Free goodies…..well that was until I had the opportunity to review a couple of products from Better Batter, I will state right here up front that they have really changed the way I look ate Gluten Free goodies!

Better Batter Gluten Free Flour is the brainchild of Naomi Poe, and quite literally an answer to prayer.

In 2003, after a year and a half of unsuccessful therapies for developmental and speech delays commonly associated with autism, Naomi asked her doctor, in desperation, if there was something she was missing. Naomi’s doctor suggested that perhaps gluten was behind her oldest son’s autistic symptoms. Testing revealed that he was suffering from gluten enteropathy. With four people eating gluten free, it was only logical that Something Would Have to Be Done. Naomi, like most of you, started baking her own breads and goodies, using the information and recipes available at the time.

You’ve all been where she was in April of 2006, tired of paying too much for mixes that required additional special ingredients, didn’t work, or tasted plain weird.

She wanted a flour that would work in her mom’s old recipes, look right, and taste right. The alternative — having to do something resembling either a lab experiment or a religious ceremony for something simple like chocolate chip cookies (five flours, two specialty ingredients, and prayer that the recipe would actually work) — wasn’t an option any more.

One late night, she threw up a desperate prayer to the Almighty and went to bed. That night she had a dream. In it, she was mixing up a formula for a new kind of flour. Waking up, she took this idea – this formula – and literally ran down to the kitchen, concocted the flour mix, and made her mom’s famous apple pie.

I was sent some of Better Batter’s Pancake & Biscuit Mix and Fudge Brownie Mix to review and I will admit that I was a little hesitant to try them due to bad past experiences but I decided to suck it up and one Saturday morning “Bug” and my husband was wanting some pancakes and biscuits for breakfast so I thought why not use some of the Better Batter’s and just give them a go!

So needless to say here the first product we tried from Better Batter was the Pancake & Biscuit Mix for breakfast and we made both pancakes and biscuits from the mix and I couldn’t have been happier with the mixing process all we needed was very few ingredients the mix of course, egg, milk or water….we chose to use milk, and that was it for both the pancakes and biscuits it couldn’t get much easier than that!

Now the big test is not the ease of mixing and cooking but it’s all in the taste right? Right, and the most important taster was “Bug” and to our super surprise ate all of his pancake and asked for another one! Our biscuits were wonderful themselves so light, flakey and fluffy and they were delicious! I tried the pancakes (in honor of this review :0)) and I was really pleased with the taste of these as well and I will definitely be recommending the Pancake and Biscuit Mix to my family members that are in need of Gluten Free mixes that taste good!

The next products we tried was the Gluten Free Fudge Brownie Mix and these were super easy to mix and bake and were so good! They smelled really great baking and this isn’t something I’m used to either with gluten free mixes they usually have a different smell to them while baking but these brownies smelled just like a handmade batch and they sure did taste like handmade when they were finished and had cooled off. Now, my husband isn’t big at all on gluten free sweets and usually won’t even give them a try but he said the brownies smelled so good he just had to have one and ended up eating two of them the night we baked them!

Bottom Line:
I am loving the gluten free baking mixes that we were sent from Better Batter and I know exactly where to go to get my goodies for the next family get together and that’s the yummy Fudge Brownies from Better Batter!

I will be keeping each of these mixes around our home for when we have family members visit and stay over night so that I will be able to treat them to delicious breakfasts and brownies to make them feel more like home.

If you or someone in your family has an allergy to Gluten then you should really consider giving the mixes at Better Batter a try…I think you will be pleasantly surprised and want more!

My Thoughts:

I was sent three decks of FitDecks Exercise Playing Cards to review, the FitDeck Yoga, FitDeck Junior and the FitDeck Bodyweight!

The first FitDeck I tried out was the FitDeck Yoga and I have to say I love this deck of Yoga cards! I love that I can either pick out a few cards and shuffle them for a unique custom Yoga workout just for me or I can shuffle the whole deck and play them through until I get tired of doing Yoga. I love that each of the cards not only has step-by-step pose instructions but they also offer images showing the pose so you not only read how to do the pose you also get to see it. I’m also loving the different levels in the top right corner of the card and the number of breaths you should hold the pose for your expert level!

I’ve really enjoyed using the FitDeck Yoga on days that I don’t have my Yoga classes and as a pre-workout warm up when I do my daily workouts!

We were also sent the FitDeck Junior to review and I love this deck to do with my little “Bug”! He wants to do Yoga and workout with mommy but it’s so difficult for him to keep up so I do a few of these cards with him a day just so he feels like he is getting to workout with mommy! I think these cards are so fun, they have such cute and fun names that I feel really keep “Bug” interested and makes it so fun for him. Now, he is only 2 and the deck is for ages 5-15 and of course he doesn’t do the exercises just perfect but it does get him up and moving and out from in front of the TV for a while and he seems to have a lot of fun flipping over the cards and trying to imitate the pictures on the card!

The last FitDeck we were sent was the FitDeck Bodyweight cards and I’m really enjoying using these cards along with the Yoga FitDeck we were sent to make my daily workout do double duty and I could not even imagine before that working out daily to get into shape could be so much fun and the fact that I can use FitDeck exercise playing cards to switch it up and mix it up daily makes it something I look forward to daily! The thing I love most about the FitDeck Bodyweight is that I don’t need any equipment what so ever just use my own bodyweight to maximize the exercises. This FitDeck also includes a guide for beginner to advanced so that you get your perfect workout!

Bottom Line:

I am extremely happy with all three FitDeck Exercise Playing Cards that I was sent to review! Not only do they help shake up my daily exercise routine but it makes it fun and it’s something I’m now waking up looking forward to doing! I love that with the FitDeck Junior I also get to let “Bug” feel like he is working out just as hard as mommy and the last 3 weeks since I’ve been mixing the FitDeck cards in on my daily exercise routine I have lost almost 6 lbs so what could be better!

My Thoughts:

I was sent the pink Hope Yoga Mat and a Slip Free Rosin Bag for review and I couldn’t wait for them to arrive to take to my Yoga class! I noticed a huge difference between the Aurorae Yoga Mat vs. my old cheap Yoga mat at the very first class that I used my Hope Mat, the Aurorae Mat is so much softer and really helped me hold my balance and didn’t hurt my hands and feet as the other one had done.

I’ve been using my Hope Mat for a while now and I couldn’t be happier and it’s really made my experience at my Yoga classes so wonderful! I feel like I am enjoying the classes more and I’m more comfortable during the different poses with my Aurorae mat!

I’m loving that this mat is thick, non-slip and odor free! There is nothing worse than during a difficult Yoga pose to slip on the mat and possible hurt yourself but it completely disrupts your concentration that is so important while doing Yoga! Upcoming CSN Stores Review

All women hate it, or at least every woman I know hates it….what am I talking about you may be asking yourself? Before I passed the kit along to my little cousin and her mom I wanted to make sure I got a good feel of the kit so that I can do an honest review here on my blog so I carefully opened the kit and had a look at what is inside. The kit includes:

It all comes in a very neat little carrying case so that you can keep it all together and I also love the fact that you can use this case over and over to keep it stocked to carry along with you.

The first item I just had to inspect was the The Dot Girl Period Answer Book and believe me when I say I wish I would have had one of these when I got my first period it answered many of the questions that I had. I also have to check out the Reusable Dot Girl Warm Pad, a gel heating pad for soothing cramps, just too see exactly how it worked and boy did it ever heat up just right and it was so easy to reset and only took a few minuets!

Once I gave this kit to my little cousins mom she gave it to her and of course she still has a few questions but I think in time with the help of her mom and this wonderful kit that she will be able to make the transition a whole lot easier than I did!

Bottom Line:

You don’t know how bad I would have liked to have something like this all those years ago when I experienced my first period! I think this is a wonderful kit full of very useful information and the products that are included are for me must haves! Like I said above I love the carrying case and that you can always keep it stocked with all the items your daughters/cousins/sister/ yourself…..well you get the picture will need for their periods.

I think this is a must have for any young girl that is on their way to experiencing their first periods. But, Dot Girl Products offers more than just this period kit, they also offer underwear, books, Scensibles and Skin care on their website as well as links to other important and relative information that you can share.

Ok we know that I’m a beauty product freak and I do my best to get my hands on the latest and greatest beauty products out on the market right? Right, so when I was given the opportunity to review the AMPLIF∙eye Lash Fortifier from Xtreme Lashes by Jo Mousselli I was jumping for joy!! One of the areas that I’m not to happy with on my body is my eye lashes, and I will admit how silly it may be but I’m jealous of my husband and little boy because they have very long full eye lashes and here I am stuck with what I call little stubs and they are very thin and fall out daily!!! So when I read and watched the video on the AMPLIF∙eye Lash Fortifier I was all game and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it!

My thoughts:

I was sent a tube of the new AMPLIF∙eye Lash Fortifier, which won’t be available until sometime around this November so you can imagine my excitement about being able to review a product before it hits stores. I could not wait for my sample to arrive and when it did I put it to work instantly that night!

You are supposed to apply the AMPLIF∙eye Lash Fortifier in the mornings when you wake up and in the evenings before you go to bed, but only on clean dry eye lids and you apply it like you would an eye-liner. It didn’t take me long at all to add this product to my line of morning and evening products to use and it’s beyond easy and quick to apply it doesn’t really take me any longer to get ready to apply my make-up or to head to bed than it did before I started using the AMPLIF∙eye Lash Fortifier.

I’ve been using the AMPLIF∙eye Lash Fortifier for several weeks now and I have noticed a HUGE change in my eye lashes, they seem to be much fuller, longer and best of all they aren’t falling out on a daily basis when I remove my eye-make up! I’m loving the way my lashes look even without mascara and the best part is that I only have to use one-two coats of mascara to achieve the long, full look that I love vs. using three-four coats!

I don’t have anything negative to say about the AMPLIF∙eye Lash Fortifier in any way I really love this stuff! It’s really the best product I have in my beauty routine thus far and I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s going to be there for quite some time.

I love flowers and especially roses and carnations, to me there is nothing better than having a fresh bouquet setting on our kitchen bar to really liven up our kitchen/dining room area so I try my best to go to the local flower store and pick up some kind of fresh cut flowers once every other week or so. I will admit that my two favorite flowers to bring home are roses and carnations I don’t know why they are my favorites but I just love them.  I was so excited when I found out that I would be receiving a dozen long stem roses from California Blooms that I couldn’t wait for them to arrive last Tuesday! I had mentioned that I really liked the mixed long stemmed roses and was very pleased to see that is the roses that they had sent for me to review.

My roses arrived right on time early Tuesday morning and I unpacked them immediately and was very surprised at how lovely they were since they were mailed and I had never received mail-order flowers before so I was quite unsure at how they would be packaged and what shape they would be in when the arrived but I was so happy to see that they were very securely packed and had withstood the transportation wonderfully!

Just look at the gorgeous roses, they are absolutely perfect for my taste and style and I couldn’t be happier with them.

I’ve now had these beauties for 4 days and they have bloomed out so beautifully and they are giving no sign of giving up yet so I’m feeling pretty confident that they will last for a few more days still. I love that everyone that has come into our home since receiving these roses have commented on how beautiful they look sitting in our kitchen/dining room area and how they really liven up the place.

I could not be happier with the roses that I received and I have completely changed my mind about mail-order flowers, or at least mail-order flowers from California Blooms! Mangroomer Review and Giveaway

Like most wives/girlfriends I want my husband/boyfriend to look and smell his best when we go out in public places. But, it’s kind of a chore for me since Chad is a tire mechanic so he is usually stinky and very dingy all the time. He does do his best to please me when we get a chance (once in a very blue moon) to have an actual date night but, the one thing I can’t stand is a super hairy man! I do like his goatee but that’s where I draw the line on manly body hair and he does his best to keep himself silky smooth but it’s sometimes hard to do with a regular razor so when we got the opportunity to review some products for Mangroomer I was extremely excited!!!!

Our Thoughts:

Chad was sent one of each of their three Mangroomer products to review and I couldn’t get him to the bathroom fast enough to get him started LOL! Now I will start off by saying that my husband isn’t all that hairy just mostly on his chest and stomach and of course the nether regions and his face, but he has found a use for each of the three products we were sent to try out!

First we were sent The Essential Private Body Shaver® which is for exactly what it says the private body parts :0)! I think my hubby uses this one more than any of the others and it’s now replaced his original private shaver, he says this one does so much better and doesn’t pull or “rip” as he calls it the hair out it actually shaves it close so there is no need to touch up with a normal disposable razor so it takes less time to keep his “hair in check”!

Next we were sent The Essential Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer which is my favorite item we were sent because there is nothing that can kill a romantic mood then looking up at your man and seeing the yucky nose hair….am I right ladies? Chad doesn’t have like a lot of nose hair but still enough that I think he needs to use this trimmer at least once a week and he’s been doing really well with it. He doesn’t have any ear hair but I think that if he did this would also work great. He was a bit hesitant at first to use the nose trimmer because of past bad experiences but once he got past the fear and my nagging he decided to give it a try and to his surprise it didn’t yank the hair out like the other one did (bad experience).

The last product we were sent to review was The Essential Do-It-Yourself Electric Back Hair Shaver! Chad doesn’t really have any hair on his back just a couple pop up here and there and I would usually just pluck them with the tweezers, and it probably didn’t feel too good, but he does have quite a bit on his chest and belly and he has found The Essential Do-It-Yourself Electric Back Hair Shaver does a wonderful job at getting rid of this unwanted hair with a whole lot less pain than the waxing we had tried at one point (long time ago)!

Bottom Line:
Chad and I are both very pleased with the results that he has gotten from his new Mangroomer products! He gets to make me happy being less hairy and not have to go through the pain of waxing, plucking or using an old disposable razor! Of course I’m happy because my man is looking all nice a clean cut and just plain FINE! (shhhh….don’t let him know I said that out load alright?)

I so recommend Mangroomer for the men in your lives, husbands, boyfriends, dads, grandpas and sons could all benefit from at least one of these products and what do you the ladies have to loose besides the unwanted hair on your men???? I’m thinking that these would make a wonderful stocking stuffer this holiday season or heck I think it would be an awesome Valentines Day gift!!
