Ann Clark Cookie Cutters Halloween Spooktacular Event #6 Review and Giveaway

You can’t really have a successful Halloween with out delicious, fun shaped sugar cookies decorated in fun Halloween fashion can you? Every year I make up a fun batch of sugar cookies with different Halloween shapes and since “Bug” has gotten old enough to help it’s really made my Halloween cookie making so much more fun! I usually make a half a dozen cookies a week and share them with my mom and dad just to get the feeling of Halloween, but I will admit that it has been extremely hard to find cookie cutter with fun Halloween shapes that holds up to the usage and are easy to use. So when I had the opportunity to feature Ann Clark Cookie Cutters in our Halloween Spooktacular I couldn’t wait to get baking!!

About Ann Clark (Taken From Website):

Humble Beginnings
Back in 1989, Ann Clark started out with little more than a pig-shaped Christmas ornament and a dream. After years of painting and creating small gifts for her children to give away, she set up shop in her garage and turned a hobby into a business. In 1991, armed with a small amount of start-up cash and unbridled enthusiasm, Ann tackled her first trade show, setting up a booth at the Philadelphia Gift Show with six cookie cutter designs and several other hand-made crafts. She came home with $3,500 in orders, and Ann Clark, the person, became Ann Clark, Ltd., the company.

Thirteen years of love and labor later, Ann’s creative flair and love for baking has produced a broad product line of handcrafted cookie cutters and associated giftware, making Ann Clark, Ltd. the largest cookie cutter company in the gift industry. With accounts throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, “The Cookie Cutter People from Vermont” are invited into the kitchens of consumers worldwide.

A Family Affair
With the success of Ann Clark, Ltd., cookie cutters became a family affair. Although very supportive from the outset, Ann’s late husband, John, was promoted to the more official role of Vice President in 1996. Her late son, John Jr., also served as a key player when he moved back to Vermont in 1996. Daughter Elizabeth joined the team as Sales Manager around the same time, and son Ben came on board as General Manager in 1998. Even granddaughters Margaret and Rebecca lend their services as cookie tasters, eagerly approving of Ann’s special butter cookie recipe handed down from her mother.

My Thoughts:

I was sent a few Halloween shaped cookie cutters to review and a few to giveaway to one of my lucky readers (more on that a little later). The cookie cutters that “Bug” and I decided to try was the Pumpkin cookie cutter, Ghost cookie cutter and Halloween Bat cookie cutter and when they arrived we couldn’t wait to get started cooking.

The first thing I did was make up the sugar cookie dough from scratch and it had to sit in the fridge overnight but the next morning we washed up our cookie cutters and got to baking! I love how easy these cookie cutters are to use vs. some of the other cookie cutters I have tried to use in the past. The thing I love most about these cookie cutters is the little handle that makes punching out the cookies super easy and easy to remove from the dough with out tearing the cookie shape. The cookie cutters are so easy to use “Bug” didn’t have a bit of problems pushing them down into the dough and with the handles I had no problem letting him do it on his own. The one thing I hated about using other cookie cutters is the sharp edge that you would have to push down on and I wouldn’t let “Bug” do it at all for fear he would slice his hand but I don’t have to worry about that with Ann Clark cookie cutters!!

Not only did these cookie cutters make beautiful and large cookies they are also super easy to clean and they don’t rust after a couple of uses like other cookie cutters I have used. I only wash my cookie cutters by hand I don’t put them in the dishwasher but I’m sure they would stand up just fine being washed in the dishwasher. Just have a look at these cute cookies we decorated!!

Bottom Line:

The Ann Clark cookie cutters that we used are by far the best cookie cutter I have ever had the pleasure of using! Since using them over the past few weeks I have decided that Ann Clark is the only cookie cutters for me and the price per cookie cutter isn’t bad at all at only $3.99 for a large cookie is a pretty good deal to me, especially for the quality and durability of the cookie cutter!
