Rosle Collapsible Colander Review & Giveaway

As some of you may or may not know I spend most of my time in the kitchen either preparing meals, snacks or yummy treats and I tend to use a colander quite a bit when cooking with pastas, salads, potatoes and ect so it’s important for me to have one or well maybe three or four of various sizes around the house and ready for use at all times and let’s face it I don’t have enough cabinet spaces for all the cooking tools and gadgets I would like to own so I only had one large plastic colander to use for everything so when I was offered the chance to review one of Rosle Collapsible 8 inch Colanders I just had to say YES!

About Rosle (Taken From Website):
Since 1888, Rösle has been using German engineering to produce the finest quality professional cooking tools and kitchen utensils for the professional chef and home cook. Designed for optimum performance, comfort and appearance, Rösle cookware offers a complete integrated system of kitchen utensils, cookware tools, colanders, casseroles, frying pans, skillets, barbecue utensils, barware and more. Made from the highest grade 18/10 stainless steel, Rösle will bring pleasure to food preparation that is guaranteed for a lifetime.

Pleasure Cooking
The Rösle brand stands for style in the kitchen and dining ambient. We are a manufacturer renowned for functional solutions and an emphasis on timeless design. Like more and more people we strive for concepts of real and lasting value and our RÖSLE Kitchen Utensils for preparing, cooking, roasting, boiling and storing food develop into supportive and reliable friends. Careful study and decision is evident in the important details. That's why each kitchen ladle has to pass through no less than ten production stages from initial raw material to the finished product. Smart and innovative solutions developed by RÖSLE continue to win increasing acclaim and recognition. A good example are our "Intelligent Utensils" — two single utensils that perform as perfect tongs once coupled together. Ease and ergonomic utility are also top priority and demonstrated well in a product such as the Garlic Press which even crushes unpeeled garlic cloves with a single press. Just one or two examples of many subtle yet important details. That may explain why RÖSLE has received high praise for its products and been presented with many prestigious international awards for design. The circle of loyal RÖSLE fans is growing steadily.

Stainless Steel - Superior Quality that offers you lasting service
RÖSLE products pass through elaborate manufacturing processes during production and only leave our premises after undergoing strict quality control. 18/10 stainless steel - superior quality, hardwearing and user-friendly material - is used in production Stainless steel is hygienic, neutral to flavors and odors, robust, decorative, easy-clean and environment friendly. The material can be quickly and easily kept in peak hygienic condition.

Innovation
RÖSLE's been manufacturing kitchen utensils for more than a hundred years for their clients — professionals and hobby cooks who enjoy cooking and take pride in their skills. Each year, an increasing number of our customers look forward to our new product developments and fresh ideas. Challenging expectations we keenly try to fulfill. We've tried to be attentive to market trends and demands. Some of our more recent innovations include the Onion and Vegetable Chopper, Locking Tongs, and Gourmet-Thermometer.

Our Thoughts:

We were sent one of Rosle’s Collapsible 8inch Colanders in black to review and I’ve used this little gem a hundred times…well daily I should say since receiving it and I have to say that this little booger holds quite a bit….more than it looks like it should! I’ve used it or everything from pastas, salad greens, beans, potatoes and the cleaning of berries and fruits and I just love it!

Here is a little about the Collapsible Colander (taken from website):

For draining and preparing salads, fruits, vegetables and also functions as pasta and steamer insert. Manufactured in 18/10 stainless steel and silicone. Our collapsible colander has a patented folding mechanism which allows for space-saving storage. Dishwasher safe.

Awarded with the ""KitchenInnovation of the Year 2009" in the category of functionality, innovation, product benefits and design

Now since we got all the specs out of the way on with the review….one thing that I absolutely love about his colander is that it’s collapsible and makes storage super easy, I simply wash it up (usually in the dishwasher) collapse it and place it in my drawer closest to the stove with all my measuring cups and it’s put up and out of the way! I’m also loving that the holes in this colander are small so that when draining smaller pastas and fruits and other things (such as pumpkin or sunflower seeds) I don’t have to worry about them being rinsed out of the colander and down the sink.

I’ve already touched on this but the clean up of this colander is quick and easy, I’m loving that it’s dishwasher safe which takes a step out of the nightly dishes for me :0)!!

Bottom Line:
I don’t know how I ever made it in the kitchen without this wonderful colander and I can tell you that I won’t be going back to my big ol’ plastic colander any time soon and I’m actually looking into purchasing one of Rosle’s 10 inch Collapsible Colanders for my bigger needs such as with meats and bigger fruits and veggies!

I think these are a must have in every kitchen and if you don’t already have a collapsible colander you should defiantly check into picking one of these little gems up….you wont be sorry…just think more cabinet space and quick easy clean up. These would be wonderful in smaller apartments and homes with little cabinet space!
