Tetley British Blend Premium Black Tea Review
Growing up tea was a staple in every meal with my family and I’ve always loved tea and will drink it just about every way possible, and I also like to try different types of teas. Luckily my husband was also raised with tea as a staple so that’s one drink that we can agree on! So when we had the opportunity to review a tea from Tetley we were both pretty excited and decided to try their British Blend Premium Black Tea!
About Tetley USA (Taken From Website):
Tetley Tea maintains a tradition of quality begun over 160 years ago in England. At the beginning of the 19th century, brothers Joseph and Edward Tetley founded Joseph Tetley & Co. in 1837, after successfully selling tea off the back of their pack horse for several years. In 1856, they moved the company to London—then the center of the world’s tea trade. They eventually parted, and Joseph unveiled the newly named "Joseph Tetley & Co., Wholesale Tea Dealers."
In 1871, Tetley took his son Joseph "Junior" into partnership. Business flourished and the company extended its services to include blending and packing. By 1888, the company was ready to take its next major step-an agreement with American agents to distribute Tetley’s teas throughout the United States.
Though sales of tea in tea bags accounted for only 5% of Tetley’s sales by the 1930s, the company accurately pegged them as the future of tea commerce. War interrupted immediate production plans, but the foundation was laid for the launch of the Tetley Tea Bag in Britain in 1953.
Tetley continued to innovate with the introduction of the round tea bag to the U.S. in 1992, that literally changed the shape of the market. Tetley further revolutionized the industry with the unveiling of the first drawstring tea bag, in 1997. Designed to squeeze every possible drop of flavor into every cup, Tetley drawstring tea bags have become a favorite with lovers of hot tea.
Our Thoughts:
We were sent a box of Tetley’s British Blend to try out and I couldn’t wait to try it when it arrived at our door. Now, I want to first say that we mostly drink the Southern Style Super Sweet Tea so the hot tea was a little more different then we were used to but once I took that first sip it was all over with I fell in love with the rich dark flavor and with the weather being damp and cool like fall I felt it was the perfect morning drink, to replace a cup or so of coffee! My husband on the other hand drinks it any time of day and has really enjoyed the British Blend we were sent and has stated that I should pick up a box next trip to the grocery store!
I love the round tea bags that fit perfectly in your coffee or tea cup and they seep so perfectly! I’ve tried the British Blend with a small dab of milk but I think I prefer just the tea all by itself, but Chad likes to put a little bit of sugar in his cup before he pours in the hot water. The first thing I noticed about this tea was the smell when I opened the box and it was a very heavenly smell so I was really expecting a delicious tea and that is exactly what I got!
Bottom Line:
I’m now in love with Tetley’s British Blend Black Tea and will be keeping it on hand for those crisp cool mornings and for a quick relaxing drink before bed. I never thought hot tea could taste this good.
I totally recommend Tetley’s British Blend to anyone that likes tea, you can’t go wrong with this hot tea….trust me!
