I love cosmetics as I’ve mentioned time and time again so anytime I get a chance to give some that are new a try I’m always super excited to do so! I’ve heard so much about mineral make-up the last few years, but I had never gave it a try up until recently when I got the chance to review Jenulence mineral makeup and it has changed the way I look at my old makeup!
About Jenulence Mineral Makeup (Taken From Website):
JenulenceTM, a small family owned company, was created on February 2003 out of our love for all-natural and pure cosmetics and skin care products.
All our products are 100% natural. We understand that it is very important to use naturally prepared makeup and cosmetics and not to overburden the body with any extra load of toxic substances, especially now, when we are bombarded with all kinds of chemicals beginning with pesticides in our foods and a variety of pollutants in the air and water.
That is why you will not find any artificial ingredients in our products. All our products are environmentally friendly, biodegradable and they are never tested on animals. We use only food grade oils and aromatherapy grade essential oils that come from organic or wild sources in our skin care products. We use only pure cosmetic grade minerals and pigments to manufacture our mineral makeup. We do not use nano-particles, micronized minerals or FD&C, D&C or Aluminum Lake dyes that are almost always used in all conventional cosmetics and many mineral makeup products.
To read more about our mineral makeup see our About Minerals page.
We understand that skin is a living, breathing and detoxifying organ, which absorbs a big portion of what we put on it. It has been calculated that over her lifetime the average woman can absorb as much as five pounds of different chemicals from cosmetic and skin care products. Every "Natural" or "Botanical" cream and skin lotion always contains synthetic preservatives, emulsifiers, solvents and artificial fragrances. All these ingredients could be damaging to our immune system and health.
Our company's motto is: If you can't eat it, don't use it on your skin.
I was lucky enough to get a chance to review several makeup products from Jenulence and I’m now sold on mineral makeup!
The first product that I received was the Sea Shell Mineral Foundation Powder and I was very surprised that it matched my skin tone perfectly! I will admit though that with never applying mineral makeup before in my life it took a couple of tries to get it right and I also realized I do need to purchase some new brushes, but over all I love it! It looks so natural and is very light weight and I can’t even tell I’m wearing makeup on my face :0)!
Next I tried the Finishing Powder over my foundation powder and blush (I used my normal blush) and it just really gave a nice finished glow to my face and looked wonderful! And the best thing about this Finishing Powder is that you can use it over any foundation (liquid or powder) or it can be used by itself!
I also received the Moon Dust Shimmer Eye Shadow to try out and this is a very beautiful color indeed it’s a very light lavender with silver and it’s really just a beautiful color! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before but I usually never just wear one eye shadow color on my eyes, the least amount I use is 2 colors and the max is 4 so I love to use this color as the light color on my lid which is pretty much the whole lid with the exception of the crease and the very outer edges where I usually use a darker color to compliment it.
I also got to try out another awesome Eye Shadow: Silver Dark Shimmer and this one I love to use on the outer edges of my eyes and in the crease to give my eyes that sexy smoky finish! I love this color because it’s a very pretty silver-gray color and matches just about any other shadow to create the smoky effect!
So let’s have a look at before and after pictures! Warning: no makeup ahead (haha sorry I don’t usually let people see me without make-up but I felt that it was needed in this case!)
Here I am all natural just out of the shower with no makeup on whatsoever, as you can see from the photo I do not have flawless skin by no means! My biggest issue is to find a makeup that will help even out my skin tone and get rid of the redness on my cheeks!:
And here is after I applied the foundation and finishing powder:
Note: I the pink on my cheeks and nose are from my brush I used to apply the powders not from the makeup itself, that’s why I noted I needed to invest in brushes just for this purpose!
Here is the finished result:
I did use my own eyeliner, lip liner, lip gloss and mascara to complete the look but everything else is from the products sent for review my eyes are made up with both the eye shadows reviewed and no other color was used other than my dark eyeliner.
I’m now sold on mineral make-up and Jenulence products! I went into this review with a few doubts but I must say I’m very pleased with the results and I will be looking at my old foundation and powder differently from now on! I do need to get brushes just for my foundation and finishing powders but I will never go back to the liquid foundation or pressed powder I was using!! I love the shadows and they are so easy and quick to apply and look so wonderful! My husband loves the natural look that Jenulence Mineral Makeup gives me that he gives it two thumbs up and actually said he prefers me to look more natural than all made up!
