Green Giant® Fresh Whole Baby Potatoes in Sauce Review and Giveaway
My family loves potatoes of every shape and size! We eat them with just about every home cooked meal we eat, they are either fried, mashed, boiled, grilled or cooked into our roast or soups! But, I will admit that there are times we want them as a side dish for dinner but just don’t have the time or energy to prepare them, and that is where the new Green Giant® Fresh Whole Baby Potatoes in Sauce come into play. I’m so glad I discovered these little cooking gems so now even if we are in a rush we can have fresh yummy baby potatoes with our meals!
About Green Giant® Fresh Whole Baby Potatoes in Sauce:
Green Giant® Fresh Whole Baby Potatoes in Sauce are found in grocery stores in the refrigerated section of produce (next to the cut salads, etc) and will need to be refrigerated. Do not freeze. There are four flavors: Four Cheese, Three Chile, Mesquite Smoked Bacon and Roasted Garlic. Roasted Garlic and Four Cheese are our most popular flavors. There is no preparation needed before cooking, simply place the bag into the microwave for 4 ½ minutes on high (1100 watt microwave or higher), let set for 1 minute, open and serve. If you like your potatoes a little mushier, then leave them in for an extra minute. The bag that these are microwaved in is a special high-grade, self-venting plastic bag to ensure the highest food safety possible while offering you the best option for fast and even cooking. All of our microwave bags are Bisphenol A (BPA) free, and adhere to the strict FDA guidelines for microwave food packaging.
My Thoughts:
I was sent a few bags of each of the four flavors to try and we love them all, but of course we all have our very favorites, which I will tell you about a little bit later. The four flavors we were sent was Four Cheese, Three Chile, Mesquite Smoked Bacon and Roasted Garlic! We enjoyed these with quite a few of our meals and really enjoyed trying each of the new a unique flavors!
The first flavor we tried was the Mesquite Smoked Bacon and I made these along with a BBQ Pork Tenderloin and oh my gosh these two were a match made in heaven! My husband enjoyed his baby potatoes with a bit of BBQ sauce along with the original sauce and said it really had a wonderful flavor! I love these just as they are and they make a wonderful addition to any meal! This one was my husbands favorite out of the four we received so I will be sure to keep these on hand for him.
The next flavor we tried was the Roasted Garlic along with some fried chicken and I will tell you all up front these were my personal favorite because I love garlic everything! My husband on the other hand doesn’t eat much with garlic but even he agreed that these were pretty good for garlic and it doesn’t have an over whelming garlic taste as some other garlic products I’ve tried.
Next up is “Bugs” favorite the Four Cheese potatoes and that kinda of went unspoken since all the boy wants to eat is foods with cheese either in them or on them! These were really good with grilled steaks and asparagus! I think these are a wonderful addition to just about every meal, and will be keeping these little guys around for “Bug”!
The last one we tried was the Three Chile flavor and these were really good as well, I cooked them up with some grilled shrimp and hot dogs (for “Bug”) and they were a very nice compliment to the shrimp. I will be experimenting more with theses to find other dishes they compliment as well, I’m thinking maybe some baked pork chops.
Bottom Line:
We are really big fans of the Green Giant® Fresh Whole Baby Potatoes in Sauce at our house. They not only taste awesome and compliment so many dishes but they are super time savers and can give you the much wanted potatoes at dinner time even if you are in a rush just take them out of the refrigerator and pop them in the microwave (in the bag) for 4 ½ minuets on high and there you have it fresh potatoes in a yummy sauce! We will be keeping these little guys on hand from now on and probably be using them at many of our family occasions and friendly gatherings! If you love potatoes you will fall in love with these Green Giant® Fresh Whole Baby Potatoes in Sauce!
