BKW Seasonings Review and Giveaway
My husband loves to cook and is constantly looking for and using new spices and seasonings. I must admit that some of his creations are really awesome and yummy, he has had a few mess ups and created down right yucky creations. Over all his yummy out weights the yucky! So I keep my eye out for new seasonings and recipes for him to try so when I came across BKW Seasonings and seen their yummy selections I knew my husband would me more than game to try them out!
About BKW Seasonings (Taken From Website):
BKW Seasonings is a family-owned business. Originating in the early 1960’s, BKW Seasonings has been satisfying taste buds for over 40 years. The seasoning was created to produce a unique buffalo-style wing that our family has used for years cooking wings for friends and customers at football games, parties, and gatherings.
In 1997 we opened a small take-out restaurant near the University of Tennessee campus called Big Kahuna Wings. Just two weeks after opening, BKW competed with twenty-nine local, regional and national wing restaurants including Hooters, Spicy's, and Buffalo Wild Wings, among others and was voted BEST WINGS in Knoxville at the annual "War of the Wings." The Big Kahuna legend was born.
While operating the restaurant, we experimented with the seasoning and found it to be exceptionally good to bring out the true flavor in almost any food. Steaks, hamburgers, pork, fish, vegetables, and many other foods have proven to be excellent with the addition of our seasoning. The result was the creation of Big Kahuna Original Gourmet Blend. When you try our blends, we believe you will agree . . . it is the most unique seasoning to ever hit the market, and its uses are endless!
Our Thoughts:
The first seasoning we were sent was the Big Kahuna FIRE Seasonings: combines the unique flavor of our Original seasoning with crushed habanero peppers to create this unique spicy blend. It is sure to add a little fire to all your favorite dishes! Boy! This stuff is really delish, my husband cooked with it the night it arrived and put it on some baked pork chops and it was really yummy it just gave the chops a very unique flavor. We have also used it since on grilled shrimp, chicken and fish! It’s a very flexible seasoning and can work on just about anything. For some inspirational ideas you can check out the recipe section on their website.
We were also sent the Big Kahuna BBQ Rub: is a special blend of herbs and spices combined with our secret blend to enhance the flavor of your favorite barbeque dishes. Use with your own sauce or just rub on and enjoy! We have also used this one several times since it’s arrival and it’s another one of my husbands new favorite seasonings, I really love it mixed with Jack Daniels BBQ sauce on some good ol’ BBQ ribs, although it’s pretty awesome on BBQ chicken too!
Over all we are very pleased with both flavors we received and are going to be purchasing more in the future! Not only are they delicious they are very affordable!
