Peeled Snacks Review and Giveaway

First off I want to thank Peeled Snacks for letting me host this awesome review and giveaway here on my blog.

At Peeled Snacks, we believe snacking should be a satisfying part of life. We enjoy delicious, wholesome foods, and know that when we eat healthy, tasty snacks, we energize our minds and bodies.

Ingredients matter! We keep our snacks as close to natural as possible by using high quality ingredients. When you bite into a juicy piece of fruit or a crunchy nut, you'll wonder why anyone would want to add sugar or fat. We've had enough of seeing high fructose corn syrup and other artificial fillers in the foods we buy. Many companies try to save money by using less natural ingredients and replacing them with sugars and fats. At Peeled Snacks, however, using premium ingredients is NOT something on which we're willing to compromise.

Creativity counts! We knew we wanted to create a snack of dried fruit and nuts, but anyone who's had a typical peanut and raisin trail mix knows that they don’t exactly burst with flavor. When you mix fruit with nuts, the nuts get soggy and the fruit dries out. We pack the fruit and nuts separately, ensuring that the nuts stay crunchy and the fruit stays moist. Other fruit and nut mixes try to cheat by adding sweeteners or vegetable oil, but Peeled Snacks are naturally sweet and flavorful. Our stay-fresh pack is our creative solution to seal in freshness without these additives. So you get a great tasty treat that's naturally good for you. See our four fruit & nut mixes.

Organic goodness! Our newest line of snacks are organic, single-serving, single-flavor varieties, called Picks. There are six organic flavors: go-Mango-man-go, pine-4-Pineapple, Banan-a-peel, Apple-2-the-core, Apricot-a-lot and Cashew-later. There are also two all-natural varieties: Cherry-go-round and Almond-daze. All Picks have nothing added: no sugar or oil or preservatives of any kind. Check out the Picks.

Here is their story:
Peeled Snacks founder, Noha Waibsnaider, launched Peeled Snacks in 2004 when she noticed something missing from the world of snack food. She craved a snack that tasted good while making you feel good about snacking. In starting Peeled Snacks, she invented the snack that she craved, debuting with three premium mixes of fruits & nuts, Bing Bing Cherry, Shock-olate and FigSated.
Noha, who received an MBA from Columbia Business School in 2002, was one of the co-founders of the Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC), a $1.5MM initiative promoting businesses with a positive social and environmental impact, and was an officer for the Social Enterprise Club - a Net Impact Chapter dedicated to helping a new generation of entrepreneurs make a positive social impact while making a profit.
After graduation, Noha worked at consumer-packaged-goods giant Unilever. She managed alternative channels for Ragu Pasta Sauce and helped develop new products under the internationally known Lipton Tea brand. Before joining the consumer packaged goods industry, Noha worked in the nonprofit sector, publishing, and marketing communications. She graduated magna cum laude from American University in Washington D.C. with a BA in Spanish and Latin American Studies.
Noha frequently speaks in business school classes and panels on social entrepreneurship. She has been a judge and mentor for the GSVC, and is an active member of Net Impact, 85 Broads, Ladies Who Launch, Women Entrepreneur Network, NY Foodie Companies Group, and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Noha, a consummate reader, speaks 3 languages fluently and enjoys traveling, yoga, cooking, and exploring farmers markets for yummy foods.

My thoughts:
Peeled snacks kindly sent me a variety of snack to try out: Cherry-go-Round, Banan-a-peel, pine-4-Pineapple, Apple-2-the-core, and Apricot-a-lot!
